Easy Homemade Low-Sugar Ketchup Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 Can (14oz) Crushed Tomatoes

  • 2 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar (other vinegars would work too)

  • 1 tbsp Mustard, of choice (I used a hot apple mustard)

  • 1 tbsp Minced Garlic (or garlic powder)

  • 1 tsp Cinnamon

  • 1 tsp Onion Powder

  • 1/2 tsp Allspice

  • Salt & Pepper to taste

  • Sweetener to taste - to keep it lower carbs utilize a small amount of stevia powder OR you can also use honey/brown sugar which would increase overall carb count

  • **other spices you can add - paprika, chili powder, cumin, cayenne, etc.


DIRECTIONS:

  1. In a small saucepan, add in all ingredients and bring to a boil

  2. Reduce to Simmer on low (stirring frequently) for about 30 minutes until thickened up

  3. Once cooled, Blend with an immersion blender to likened consistency

  4. Pour into glass containers and set up in fridge

  5. **feel free to get creative with your ketchup and add in some jalapenos, hot honey, etc. to make it spicyyyy
